Love photo book, frustrated with promo code

I added a destination maternity promo code to the website but created the photo book in the app because the app is the only way to create a collage cover. But the app wouldnt take the promo code, and the completed photo book in the app cart did not appear on the website. Shutterfly said the only way to keep the collage cover was to place order in app without promo, then have promo amount refunded. I did that because the collage cover is worth it, but its frustrating that the app and website dont communicate or have the same options, and that I have to wait up to 2 weeks for the refund that shouldnt have been necessary.
